Kill Casino
Kill Casino are one lady and two gentlemen of the rock persuasion. All three aliens to the city, they bonded over a mutual love of stuff and things and set out to puncture the underbelly of the London live music scene with their own alt-rock-punk injection, kicking up a fuss in some of the most infamous venues in the capital.

Carefully side-stepping haircut vogues and brand bands and building a growing army of devotees in the process, it wasn’t long before the press was championing the return of a front woman with credibility as an antidote to those who had for too long exploited novelty over substance. "A star in the making," wrote Kerrang! magazine reviewing one live show.
Comparisons to The Distillers, Hole, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs followed with airplay on Radio1 and XFM and videos playlisted on Kerrang! TV as well as hitting the ethereal heights of Youtube’s top 100 most viewed videos on the web.
In winter 2007, Kill Casino released their debut album, ‘I’ve been to London to see the Queen’ to unanimous critical praise. Kerrang! magazine called the album "an enjoyable guessing game KKKK" and Rock Sound praised the band as "a safe bet for much MUCH bigger things 8/10". Fiercely independent in their approach and never afraid to try something different, the band released a German language B-Side and produced their own singles and accompanying videos. The shows grew in stature, festivals followed and they were personally invited to tour with punk-rock legends Against Me! and Me First and the Gimme Gimmes to name but a few.
In Summer 08 the band went back in the studio to work on a follow-up record. “The band van was stolen and burnt - we took it as a sign it was time to get back into the studio!" says frontwoman Karen Luan. But the process was not to be easy one with set-back after set-back including the unexpected death of Karen's father. "In the same week we had a festival to play, a video shoot and recording booked in and the whole thing was a total blur. I honoured all the commitments we'd made but after that we had to stop for a while, during which time we lost our original producer to another project. It felt like things were falling apart".
Picking up the pieces the band took the reigns themselves and with mix engineer John Mitchell on board (Funeral for a Friend, Enter Shikari, You Me At Six) the Kill Casino mini-album, ‘Paper Walls and the Voice Downstairs’ was finally finished. "We sometimes wondered if we'd ever make it through this record, but now we're here, it's a good feeling and we're looking forward to the next chapter!”
